I Was Here: The Call to Purpose, Passion, and Leaving Your Mark

    March 10, 2025 /

Carvings on Desks and the Legacy We Leave Behind  When we were young and in school, we would often come across carvings etched on wooden desks, chairs, long-dried concrete, or even on trees. They always followed a simple format:  Name. I was here. Year A to Year B.  That was it.  Nothing poetic or philosophical—just a name imprinted in time. I did the same, carving mine on my elementary school desk. That was the stage in life where I felt most alive, full of wonder and adventure. I truly lived.  “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12  A Gentle Reminder of Our…

A Tribute to Resilient and Feminine Women: Breaking Free and Thriving

    March 9, 2025 /

Image by freepik on Freepik A Mother’s Influence Long after my marriage ended—when I was well past the grief stage and onto acceptance—my African mom playfully teased me. She said that my ex went out hunting for a girl and ended up picking an elephant. We both burst out laughing. Moments like these with my kind and gentle mother still linger in my mind. She has always been a wholesome parent, giving me enough space to express myself while applying just the right amount of firmness without ever forcing my hand. I don’t even think my mom ever spanked me. She scolded me when necessary, but that was about it.…

How to Create a Support System When You Feel Alone.

    March 3, 2025 /

Photo by Thirdman on Pexels. We all need someone to share life with—a confidant, a trusted friend, or even a sisterhood.  Recently, while watching an anime, I came across a scene that deeply resonated with me. The main character, diagnosed with a fatal pancreatic illness, decides to live her last days on her own terms. She befriends a boy in her class who is a social reject. One day, during a hospital visit, he asks her what the meaning of life is to her. She answers:  “It’s to connect with other humans. Because how else will you feel alive?”  That line stuck with me. On a subconscious level, I understood it.…

Why taking personal responsibility is the ultimate form of self-care.

    February 20, 2025 /

Image by KamranAydinov on Freepik. Life comes with challenges, and everyone carries their own burdens. While mutual support is ideal, most times we must take full responsibility for ourselves. Why does taking responsibility matter?  On a Macro Level  Responsibility is the foundation of human survival. From the beginning, we were given dominion over the earth—managing life, land, and sea. In advanced societies, duty creates diverse opportunities where even the marginalized can contribute meaningfully. The beauty of empowerment lies in a society that values and nurtures the potential of every individual, creating a ripple effect that uplifts both individuals and the community as a whole. As a result, we have systems, amenities, and structures that support our needs.  On an…

How to spot red flags early: Lessons from a 5-month relationship.

    February 9, 2025 /

It’s not how long you’ve been with someone; it’s about how clearly you are willing to see them.  Have you been in a relationship that felt strange? One that had you on guard? A relationship that felt so wrong and you couldn’t quite put a finger on what it was? Well, I can relate with you.   My dream is to create a safe community for women’s voice to be heard. There’s one caveat, I will not be politically correct.  Relationships can be complicated, so I chose to take a break from dating to focus on myself. I wanted to better understand my needs and what I won’t compromise on.…

Image by Rosy / Bad Homburg / Germany from Pixabay In this life, you will experience trouble….  John 16:33 I’m working through my faith and its application in my life. Like everyone else, I’m imperfect. As far as I know, the Bible gets a lot of things right about human nature and life. It has many relatable stories about the unique complexities of different people’s lives. The consequences of actions by people in Biblical narratives seem to apply in real life as well. Although I should say that some sayings are way beyond my comprehension ability. You will face troubles in this lifetime. They will either compel you to rise…

How to Find Your Life’s Purpose: 10 Reflections.

    February 1, 2025 /

Lately, I have felt a deep sense of purpose and direction. This shift came after I decided to start this blog. I had an earlier blog, but it didn’t last long—it didn’t evoke strong emotions within me. Now, I feel a profound emotional connection to this space, and it drives me to share more meaningfully. But for many of us, work can be draining, or we take certain jobs because they are the best option at the time. Can you relate? Do you hear a small voice inside urging you to explore…

How to value yourself as a woman.

    January 21, 2025 /

Image by Duckleap Free Resources from Pixabay How to value yourself as a woman is a thought we all face in a world that mostly drains and destroys. “Love your neighbor as yourself.” It’s a verse I’ve known since childhood, growing up in a Christian home. I memorized it easily, as many children do—but somewhere along the way, I put all my energy into the second part: loving others, while quietly ignoring the first: loving myself. As I’ve grown, experience has become my teacher. And one thing it has taught me is this: loving yourself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. That lack of assertiveness and constantly minimizing your needs to accommodate others…
