Dear Solo Mama: Knowing your Identity in Christ.
Let This Be Your Gentle Nudge Back to Wholeness and Hope.
Many times I have come across messages both offline and online that disparage, exile and belittle mothers especially single mothers. A message with a target to destroy and taint and to dismiss any attempts at knowing your worth and identity in Christ as a single mother.
Today, you get to find out that your identity in Christ is still intact.
I’m a woman who’s navigated cultures, questioned systems, and learned—often the hard way—that identity rooted in God is the only thing that never shifts. I’ve worked abroad, lived away from family, and wrestled with human ways and dogmatic religious traditions that make us feel undervalued. But through every season, God has remained faithful. I write to remind women—especially those walking through the shadows—that they are still crowned in divine worth. And if we do not share the same faith, I hope that my words still feel like a warm blanket wrapping around you.
A Gentle Evening: To know your identity in Christ begins by reflection.

It’s the rainy season here in June, and the evenings feel especially intimate and warm. The gentle rhythm of raindrops sets the tone for reflection, inviting rest, prayer, and quiet peace. I hope you and your loved ones have been keeping well.
How have you been? Truly—how have you been?
Knowing your identity in Christ is in understanding He is the God of the hills and the valleys.

I’ve had my share of blessings lately, but also some valleys—especially when it comes to difficult workplace dynamics. And yet, even in those trials, I witnessed God’s divine hand resolving things in ways only He can. I know He’s working behind the scenes for you too.
Tending to the Soul Behind the Strength
I hope you’ve been loving yourself well. I hope you’ve been tending to your spirit, even if it’s in small, quiet ways. I know life often demands more than is humanly possible. I know you’re facing silent battles no one sees. But I also know—because I know your strength—that even when you’re hanging on by a thread, you keep going. You push through.
Knowing your identity in Christ is in tuning to the voice of God.
It’s natural to seek validation from outside sources—from the ever-shifting standards of the world. We’re constantly told to “keep up,” to strive, to be more, do more, give more. And in doing so, we often find ourselves depleted—spiraling in inner chaos, uncertainty, and pain. Life’s suffering can feel relentless.
And so comes the Word of God, like a gentle breeze of cool wind softly entering a rigid, dimmed room—bringing refreshment and light where heaviness once prevailed.
Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV):
Jesus calls to the weary and burdened, offering rest not just for the body, but deep within the soul.
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,” He invites, “for I am gentle and humble in heart. My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
This is not just an invitation, but a promise—that in Him, the heavy weight of the world’s expectations and struggles can be exchanged for grace that lifts and sustains.

Knowing Your Identity In Christ Is By Realizing Your Worth Was Never Measured by Struggle.
But here’s the good news: in Christ, even this suffering has been redefined. In Him, our value isn’t based on what we produce or what we sacrifice for survival. Our worth is anchored in grace, not works. And His grace is what justifies us and holds us together—even on our worst days.

A Jonah Moment: To know your identity in Christ is to know your purpose.
Lately, I’ve felt like Jonah—on a sabbatical from purpose. But here I am again, even if I’m the only voice left to remind you: You are beautifully and wonderfully made. Not in the image of trends or fleeting human standards—but in the very likeness of God. The eternal, unchanging God. The same God who, at the beginning of time, made a deliberate decision to form you in His image.
Formed by the Eternal Artist
What a staggering truth! Formed from dust, yes, but imbued with divine likeness. And though we are told we’ll return to dust, that doesn’t diminish the power of who you are now—walking into rooms that may try to erase that image. But they can’t. Because your worth was declared long before they had an opinion.
This World Can’t Shrink or Erase What God made
This world—often cruel and chaotic—survives by breaking spirits, reshaping us into something more controllable: quiet, small, self-doubting. From the food we eat to the media we consume, we are bombarded by messages that numb us. Good becomes bad. Bad becomes good. And we forget who we are.
You Are Not Forgotten—Just Buried Beneath the Noise
But hear me: You are not forgotten. The value God placed in you is still there, even if buried beneath exhaustion, labels, or years of hurt. Like a dusty shelf of long-forgotten books—it’s time to wipe it clean and remember.
You Are More Than the Roles You Play
You are not just a cog in someone else’s machine. You are not just a mother, or a worker, or a role someone gave you. You are a soul crafted by the greatest Artist of all time. You are not a passing breath.
You Matter—Now and for Eternity
Yes, Scripture says our lives are like grass—here today, gone tomorrow. But it also says we are precious in His sight. That the choices we make now ripple into eternity. That our worth is not fleeting, but deeply rooted in divine intention.
When You Know Your Identity in Christ, You Walk Differently
Imagine if we all rose up into the fullness of that value. Regardless of ability, income, background, or status—what if we all believed it? People who know their worth live with abundance. They sow love where others sow hatred. They build where others tear down. They bring peace where others create division.
Finding your identity in Christ
And it starts with you.
You must look in the mirror and decide: I will rise. Not because others see you. Not because someone claps for you. But because your Creator already did. You rise despite people, despite systems. You walk boldly because God Himself says you belong. And in doing so, you give others permission to do the same.
Holy Confidence, Not Arrogance
This isn’t arrogance—it’s holy humility. Knowing your Identity in Christ is in honoring the image of God within you. And because you’ve honored God, you can see and uplift the value in others, even when they don’t yet see it in themselves.
When the World Asks Why You Shine
And when the world wonders why you seem like an oasis in a spiritually dry desert, may they come to know the truth: your identity is anchored in the Lord of Ages. The infallible God of justice, mercy, and love. A God who doesn’t require you to earn your worth, but who knit it into you before you took your first breath.
What is your identity as a daughter of God?
You are not defined by flawed systems, shifting opinions, or exhausting expectations.
You are defined by God.

With love.
